The first month of the year is great time for new plans and new starts. So we have made a list of interesting activities for January. Because having wonderful time should definitely be one of the main goals for every year.

Winter in Minsk

Orthodox Christmas and tradition to celebrate so-called Old New Year prolong festive season to the 13th of January. For those who need to buy more presents or simply want to enjoy the holiday spirit for another couple of weeks, the largest city fair – Minsk Christmas Festival – is open till the 15th of January. Look for food court, entertainments, gifts, and special Christmas program on the 7th of January near the Sport Palace at Pobediteley Prospect 4.

In case the festival is still not enough, you can always pay attention to other holiday treats.

The Museum of the 1st Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Nezavisimosti Prospect 31a) invites to an exhibition dedicated to Christmas decorations. Glass baubles and tin figures from all over the world (even from North Korea) dating back to the 19th century can charm even most serious adults.

To get a bit of musical touch attend a concert at the Church of Saints Simon and Helena. On the 7th of January Christmas and New Year melodies of the world are played there by Minsk Symphony Orchestra.

The Big Band of Belarus Air Force is waiting for listeners at Belarusian State Philharmonic Society on the 13th of January to please them with another holiday concert.
