Belarus’ Staniouta 3rd in Rhythmic Gymnastics World Ranking
Melitina Staniouta made it into the world's rhythmic individual all-around gymnastics rankin
Following her recent successful performance at the 2014 FIG World Cup in Minsk leader of the Belarusian national team Melitina Staniouta made it into the world’s rhythmic gymnastics top three individual all-around ranking, BelTA has learned.
Melitina Staniouta became 2nd in the individual all-around events in Minsk and scored 25 points in the program. The Belarusian totaled 99 points to secure the third position in the world ranking. The leading positions are held by two Russian gymnasts: Yana Kudryavtseva (135 points) and Margarina Mamun (130). Among the best are also Anna Rizatdinova of Ukraine (4th place; 95 points), Maria Titova of Russia (5th place; 83), Son Yeon-jae of Korea (6th; 73), Marina Durunda of Azerbaijan (7th; 65.5), Alexandra Soldatova of Russia (8th; 65). The 9th place has been shared by Israel’s Neta Rivkin and Belarus’ Yekaterina Galkina (52 points each). Two more Belarusian athletes hold 17th (Arina Sharapa; 32 points) and 47th (Yelena Bolotina; 1.5) positions.
As for individual events, Melitina Staniouta is ranked second in hoop (110 points) and ribbon (109) and third in ball (110) and clubs (105).
At the FIG World Cup in Minsk which was held on 30 May-1 June Melitina Staniouta graced the podium in four individual events. Besides the all-around silver, the gymnast bagged gold in the ribbon event and two bronze medals in the ball and clubs routines.
In group events (10 Clubs; 3 Balls and 2 Ribbons) Belarus claimed silver in 10 clubs routine.
